Steve Drozd, a member of The Flaming Lips, is breathing a sigh of relief as his teenage daughter, Charlotte “Bowie” Drozd, has been found safe. Charlotte, who went missing on Saturday, October 5, has been reunited with her family, according to the Seattle Police Department.
Seattle PD confirmed to The Post on Tuesday that 16-year-old Charlotte has been located and is now back with her loved ones. “The Seattle Police Department can confirm that Charlotte Drozd has been found and is safe with her family,” their statement read.
Charlotte ‘Bowie’ Drozd Missing Update
The search for Charlotte gained attention when police issued a missing person alert on Sunday, sharing her photo and essential details on X (formerly known as Twitter) to help the public locate her. Charlotte was last seen on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in downtown Seattle, near Broad Street, the Space Needle, and the Seattle Monorail.
Fans of the Flaming Lips and concerned citizens had rallied behind the effort to locate Charlotte, making her safe return a moment of relief for all involved.
Just before the police confirmed Charlotte Drozd had been found, Katy Coyne, wife of Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne, shared the news on Instagram. “‘Bowie’ Drozd was found safe outside of Seattle,” she posted.
Katy expressed her gratitude, writing, “Thank you to everyone helping bring her home safely. There’s no other information yet, but she was just found 🙏.”
She added, “THANK YOU everyone for all your posts, networking, support, skills, trust, and LOVE!!!”
Over the weekend, the Seattle Police officially declared Charlotte Drozd’s case as an active missing person investigation, assigning a detective to handle the search.
Friends, family, and Steve Drozd’s bandmates from the Flaming Lips took to social media to share the news, urging the public to help locate Charlotte and assist in the search efforts. Wayne Coyne and rock band Weezer were among the many who shared Charlotte’s missing person poster on Instagram, amplifying the call for help in finding her.
