Tragic Collision Claims Lives of Two Teenagers and a Married Couple
An 18-year-old boy, Lochie Jacobs, who tragically lost his father two years ago, was killed alongside his best friend in a devastating car crash that also claimed the lives of a married couple.
Lochie and his childhood friend, 19-year-old Joey Urban, were passengers in a ute that was involved in a head-on collision with a van on the Newell Highway in Tomingley, located just south of Dubbo, New South Wales, around 9:20 p.m. on Friday.
Despite the urgent efforts of paramedics to revive them, both teenagers were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the ute, a 23-year-old man, sustained leg injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The van’s passengers, Sue Tait, 57, the assistant director of Parkes Early Childhood Centre, and her husband Graham, also 57, tragically lost their lives in the collision.
The couple, who shared five children, have left a profound impact on their community, and their deaths have added to the heartbreak surrounding this tragic incident.

Mr. Urban’s sister fondly remembered him as the “best brother a sister could ask for,” vowing to “drink a few Tooheys” in his honor. “I love you so incredibly much; you will be missed by so many,” she expressed in a heartfelt tribute.
A close friend also shared their sorrow, stating, “They can rest easy, beautiful boys. The world is so cruel at times! Too young.”
Lochie Jacobs had recently started an agricultural business, Jacobs Rural Contracting, after graduating from St Stanislaus’ Agricultural College in Bathurst just this past April. His passion for farming and dedication to his work reflected his vibrant spirit, leaving a lasting legacy in the community.
A GoFundMe campaign has quickly raised over $16,000 within hours to provide support for the Tait family’s children during this difficult time. The outpouring of generosity from the community highlights the profound impact Sue and Graham Tait had on those around them, as friends and neighbors come together to help the grieving family.
